A bicycle pedal crank axle (2) is journalled in a tubular portion (1) of the frame of the bicycle by means of two bearings (5) each having an inner ring (6) in forced association with a cylindrical neck (3) of the axle (2) and bearing against a shoulder (4) of the axle, and an outer ring (7) having a peripheral thread (7') screw engaged in an internally threaded portion (10) of the tubular portion (1). The bearings may have seals (9) and lock-nuts 11 may be screwed onto the outer rings (7).
