PURPOSE: An ice ball for heat storage system is provided to achieve an in-advance prevention against a power failure, to reduce electric energy consumption during night time and to improve cooling efficiency during day time. CONSTITUTION: An ice ball(5) includes a hollow pipe(14) having a predetermined diameter and formed integrally along the center line of a hollow spherical body(13) of the ice ball; a space(16) formed between the inner surface of the spherical body and an outer surface of the hollow pipe, which is filled with water(17); and a plurality of corrugations(15,15a) formed along the outer circumference of the spherical body, in such a manner that the corrugations become perpendicular with respect to the center axis of the hollow pipe. The ice ball is inserted into a heat storage of a cooling system, and frozen using the power supplied during the night time. The ice ball is used in a cooling operation during the day time so as to maintain an lowered electrical energy consumption.
