PURPOSE: An artificial leather having excellent elastic recovery and flexibility and capable of producing various sizes of shoes such as extra large, large, medium, small, extra small and the like without restriction of exact size of a foot during the production of sports shoes is provided, which reduces the cost of production and improves productivity. CONSTITUTION: The nonwoven fabric for artificial leather is prepared by needle-punching a mixture of contractible polyester monofilaments and nylon monofilaments, a mixture of nylon monofilaments and general polyester monofilaments, a mixture of nylon monofilaments and contractible polyester monofilaments, a mixture of contractible polyester monofilamnents, nylon monofilaments and general polyester monofilaments, or a mixture of contractible polyester monofilaments, nylon monofilaments and contractible polyester monofilaments on the surface of a fabric mesh weaved by using a polyester stretch yarn as weft thread, and spandex or the polyester stretch yarn as warp. The polyester stretch yarn is obtained by doubling 95% by weight of a general polyester yarn and 2 to 5% by weight of a spandex yarn.
