POLYESTER THICK AND THIN YARN AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE: A process of preparing a polyester thick and thin yarn having excellent texture and two-tone effects during production of textile fabrics by effective retardation of increase in crystallinity during spinning at a high wind-up speed is provided, which improves productivity and effectively prevents degradation of quality of a yarn. CONSTITUTION: About 95.0 to 99.5% by weight of a polyester polymer containing at least 85% by weight of polyethylene terephthalate repeating unit and 0.5 to 5.0% by weight of an orientation inhibitor are uniformly mixed in a molten state, spun at a speed of 4,000m/min or more and winded up to produce a partially orientated yarn having a breaking elongation of 120% or more, which is drawn at a 40 to 85% drawing magnification of the maximum drawing magnification of a partial oriented yarn at a temperature not higher than 20deg.C above glass transition temperature of the partially orientated yarn and heat-set at 130deg.C or less.
