A sweeping machine roller brush has a cylindrical central tube (10) which is provided with a plurality of axial guide bars having guides for supporting bristle bars (20) that are divided into sections. The bristle bar sections (28, 30, 32, 34) have mounted thereon a plurality of flexible plastic sleeves (22). The sleeves have bottom parts (22A) which are fitted into holes provided in respective bristle bar sections, and relatively long, upper free parts (22B) which are located radially outside the bristle bar sections. Bristle bundles (26) are fitted onto the plastic sleeves. Located between the upper parts (22B) of the plastic sleeves are intermediate walls (42) which function to prevent the passage of air between the sleeves as the roller brush rotates, so as to obtain a desired fan effect which blow away, for instance, newly fallen snow, even when the bristles are pratically totally worn. The partition walls are moulded integrally with the sleeves. |
