A manure-processing system comprises at least one sloping surface which ends in a gutter, which gutter opens out into a storage tank in which the liquid fraction of manure which has been deposited by animals is collected separately from the thick fraction, which is pushed off the sloping surface to a second storage tank with the aid of a pusher device. At the relevant end of the sloping surface, there is a self-closing valve which can be opened automatically by the pusher device 8. The motor for advancing the pusher device is preferably located in the gutter, in which there is also a toothed track. As seen in the direction of the gutter, the pusher device widens, in order to allow lateral movement of the thick fraction which is to be displaced without this thick fraction being mixed with the thin fraction. <IMAGE>
