摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic light quantity adjusting device for a Vickers hardness tester, to automatically adjust the quantity of light. SOLUTION: A light-receiving diode 14 is provided in the lens-barrel 11 of an optical microscope 3 of the Vickers hardness tester 1 to detect the quantity of light, which is reflected at the surface of a sample and passes through an object lens 5 and through the lens-barrel 11. The light=receiving diode 14 is connected to a light quantity control circuit 16. The light quantity control circuit 16 is provided with a storage part 18, and the light quantity considered as being necessary for measurements is previously set as a set value in the storage part 18. Light quantity data obtained from the light receiving diode 14 is compared with the set value in the light quantity control circuit 16 to output the difference between the light quantity data and set value to a lamp 13 as control data. The lamp 13 automatically adjusts the quantity of light to be emitted by the control data.
