PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for adjusting a plurality of spot positions of an optical pickup which enable adjustment of a plurality of spot positions with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In this method for adjusting a plurality of spot positions, a translucent reference original board 2 having a prescribed groove pitch and an expanded optical system 3 for observing the groove formation surface of the translucent reference original board are used, and a plurality of spot positions is adjusted by simultaneously observing the groove shape of the original board 2 and the plurality of spots of the optical pickup 1 formed on its groove surface 2a and measuring their position relation, the plurality of spot positions can be adjusted with high accuracy by adjusting the plurality of spot positions while the optical system 3 is focused on the groove surface 2a or one or a plurality of spots to be a main and also while one or the plurality of spots to be the main are always focused on the groove surface 2a of the original board 2.
