PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance fuel economy or the like by avoiding to a minimum an engine to be operated at close intervals only for charging, irrespective of stopping or running of a vehicle. SOLUTION: When the residual amount of a battery 4 that feeds power to a motor generator 2 and an air conditioner unit 6 becomes lower than a target value at a start of charging, a drive engine 1 drives the motor generator 2, to charge the battery 4. While the drive engine 1 is in operation, the target value at the start of charging is set higher than that of the engine in non- operation, to allow an easy start of charging while the engine is in operation. |
