PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for automatically informing the facsimile transmitting state to a transmitting side and a receiving side. SOLUTION: In transmission of a facsimile message, when a receiving side is newly designated, the primary destination data of the receiving side is stored. When informing of the facsimile transmitting state to the receiving side is requested, the secondary sending address of the receiving side for the informing is received, and the status data indicating the facsimile transmitting state, for example, time required for transmission, success, failure, time, and date or the like are generated. The facsimile message is transmitted to the primary address, while the facsimile transmitting state is combined, for example, in a message such as an E-mail or the like and is then transmitted to the secondary informing address.
