PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a structure of a close contact image sensor to improve resolution without increase in difficulty of manufacture and therefore without increase in manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A photosensor element set 333 is formed of three elements arranged in parallel including a first, a second, and a third photosensor elements 3331, 3332, and 3333. The first to third photosensor elements 3331 to 3333 respectively include 13600 photosensor units SR11 to SR113600, SG11 to SG113600, and SB11 to SB113600 that are linearly arranged adjacently (namely, along the X direction (first direction)). An edge 3331a of the first photosensor element 3331 is deviated by an interval D1 in the X direction from an edge 3332a of the second photosensor element 3332. An edge 3332a of the second photosensor element 3332 is deviated by an interval D2 in the X direction from an edge 3333a of the third photosensor element 3333. The interval D1 is preferably equal to the interval D2 and the interval D1, D2 is equal to a half or a third of the length of one photosensor unit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
