PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a thin metalized film capacitor with large oblateness but without characteristics fluctuation. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of an oblate metalized film capacitor includes steps of:preparing a cylindrical wiring core portion 1 which has folding portions 2 at two facing ends in the radial direction thereof, along the longitudinal direction; wiring a metalized film 3 on the periphery of the wiring core portion 1; causing the metalized film to be oblate by folding the folding portions 2 while adding pressure from the periphery surface towards the inside of the wound metalized film 3 into a direction perpendicular to a line connecting the two folding portions 2; and forming a metal layer 6 on both end surfaces of the oblate metalized film 3.
