PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical injector adapting a check valve which structure is hard for jamming chemicals, easy for working when removing a supply pipe for chemicals and capable of easily and surely closing after removal. SOLUTION: In a propelling shield method excavating and propelling with a propelling body 1 connected with buried pipes 1a, 1b at the back of a shield machine while injecting chemicals at the outer peripheral part of the propelling body 1 and laying a piping passage formed with the buried pipes, a ball valve type check valve 16 connected to a supply pipe for chemicals 2 supplying chemicals via a coupler 14 arranged in the buried pipes is installed in a buried state at the sidewall of the buried pipes so that the ball weight itself works in a closing direction of the check valve at a position separated from the coupler and a second check valve 9 discharging chemicals sent out from the ball valve type check valve at the outer peripheral part is arranged at a pipe wall part of the buried pipes.
