PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify and provide the CD2-binding domain of LFA-3 for modulating a cellular process and an immunologic process both depending on the formation of a CD2/LFA-3 complex, by understanding a specific interaction of CD2 with LFA-3. SOLUTION: A polypeptide encoding the CD2-binding domain of LFA-3, capable of binding to the CD2. A fused protein containing the polypeptide. A composition containing the polypeptide and the fused protein. A kit containing them. And a method for using them.
