PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery cooling device capable of contributing to the reduction of energy consumption required for battery cooling by achieving efficient operation of a pump and a fan to maintain a battery temperature within a proper temperature range in a water cooling type battery cooling structure.SOLUTION: An ECU (30) sets a prediction range of vehicle front in accordance with the ambient temperature (S1). The ECU predicts temperature transition of a battery (11) from route information in the prediction range (S2, S3). When the predicted battery temperature exceeds a proper range (Yen is S4), the ECU calculates the necessary radiation amount from time until exceeding a proper temperature range and the maximum temperature difference exceeding the proper temperature range in a prediction range (S5, S6). The ECU selects the optimum operating point comprising the most efficient pump flow rate and the fan flow rate for radiating this necessary radiation amount to operate a pump (21) and a fan (24) (S7-S11).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
