PURPOSE:To obtain a weld zone which causes neither the formation of a blow hole nor slag inclusion and is free of joint defect, by interposing metallic foil between respective layers near the weld zone of a multilayered winding cylinder when welding multilayered winding cylinder together or a multilayered winding cylinder to another member. CONSTITUTION:A multilayered winding cylinder is formed by winding numbers of thin metallic plates concentrically or spirally, and this is welded normally in an axial direction. For example, multilayered winding cylindersIand II made of thin steel plates 1a, 1b..., and 2a, 2b... are butt-welded to obtain a weld zone 3. In this case, metallic foil 6 is interposed between thin steel plate layers near the weld zone. In this interposing method, the foil 6 is welded in spots to the thin steel plate 1 at principal parts on a line W extending inside of the plate 1, bending work is performed, and they are stacked and wound cylindrical, thereby performing axial seam welding. Thus, when the cylindersIand II are butt-welded in the circumferential direction, an excellent weld zone 3 is obtained. |
