PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline battery of superior high-rate discharging characteristics and long-term reliability by improving a hydrogen storage alloy electrode. SOLUTION: The hydrogen storage alloy electrode made by applying or filling paste includes an active material on a metal plate, a metal foil, or a conductive core material perforating them, an integrated fibrous or cylindrical nickel sintered compact is put on the surface of the conductive core material. The shape of powder of the hydrogen storage alloy is selected from among spherical, substantially spherical, hen's egg shapes or an aggregate of them. |
