PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flat cable for which filler to retain the flat cables in a connector are not necessary, and which can be coupled by selecting one or two low-cost flat cables. SOLUTION: The first contact 4 fixed to the first insulator and a conductor 6C of a flat ribbon cable 6 housed in the second insulator 2 are connected. A concave part 6B and a convex part 6A of a nearly crank-arm shape of the flat ribbon cable are pinch-held by a nearly cross-sectional trapezoid-shaped part 7A and a counter part 7B of a clamp 7, and the convex part 6 of the flat ribbon cable is inserted into the concave part 2A of the second insulator. When the flat ribbon cable is pulled in the right direction, the concave part 6B is going to move the clamp upward, but the clamp is abutted on a rib of the third insulator (not illustrated) and prevented from being moved. Accordingly a drawing of the flat ribbon cable from the connector is prevented. |
