<p>Apparatus (20) for receiving crankcase emissions from an internal combustion engine and for separating the liquid portions of the emissions from the gaseous portion thereof. The apparatus (20) includes a mounting flange, an opening (24) for the return of the liquids to the engine, and at least one layer of filtering material (21). In one embodiment, the filtering material (21) may be soaked with oil. Another embodiment has a screw (52) mounted in the housing, and positioned to retard the flow of emissions exiting from the housing. The apparatus includes an outlet (27) for return of the gaseous portion of the emissions to return to the combustion chamber via the PCV line or the induction manifold.</p> |
