PURPOSE:To record data such as bar code pattern on label paper sheets or tag sheets of various shapes in an optional printing direction with a good transfer property clearly without surface delamination by using a thermal transfer recording medium having a heat melting ink layer and to improve the abrasion resistance of the transferred image. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer recording medium in which a primer layer 2, a heat melting ink layer 3, and an overcoat layer 4 are laminated in sequence on a base material 1, the surface glossiness by JIS-Z8741 of the overcoat layer is 60% or more, and the primer layer 2 is composed of wax and a thermoplastic resin which is incompatible with the wax. |
