PURPOSE: To improve the environmental safety, detergency and hardening resistance of a compsn. contg. a mixture ofα-sulfomyristic ester salt withα- sulfopalmitic ester salt andα-sulfostearic ester salt by specifying the structures of the components and the mixing ratio among them. CONSTITUTION: This surfactant compsn. containsα-sulfo mixed fatty acid ester salt prepd. by mixingα-sulfomyristic ester salt (A) withα-sulfopalmitic ester salt (B) andα-sulfostearic ester salt (C). The components A, B, C are represented by the formula (where R1 is a 12, 14 or 16C satd. alkyl, R2 is a 1-4C straight chain or branched chain alkyl and M1 is H or a monovalent salt forming cation). When the total amt. of the components A, B, C is represented by 100wt.%, the amts. of the components A, B, C are regulated to 5-60wt.%, 20-80wt.% and 5-60wt.%, respectively.
