PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the use of a frequency synthesizer, for which the switching speed of frequency is lower than conventional speed, concerning a portable telephone system for performing the transmission/reception of LCCH while using a carrier for control corresponding to mutually different frequency bands. SOLUTION: From the transmission of down logic control channel to the carrier for control at a frequency f1 to the start of transmission of down logic control channel to the carrier for control at a frequency f2 , a control part 28 at a base station controls a main part 29 and a frequency synthesizer 23 at the base station so as to receive an up logic control channel only on the carrier for control at the frequency f1 . Besides, a control part 18 at a mobile station controls a main part 19 and a frequency synthesizer 13 at the mobile station so as to transmit the up logic control channel only onto the carrier for control at the frequency f1 during such a term.
