PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure racers good visibility of their travelling route and ensure spectators and judges good visibility of positions of boats, by providing diffusion areas in a part of or over the whole of a racing course in a speedboat racing pond, generating fine unevenness on the surface of the water within each diffusion area, and causing the unevenness to reflect illumination light in a diffusing manner. SOLUTION: Diffusion areas 3A, 3B, 3C are provided in a part of or over the whole of a racing course in a speedboat race pond, and preferably, at least, in peripheral parts of turn marks 1A, 1B, fine unevenness is generated on the surface of the water within each of the diffusion areas 3A, 3B, 3C, preferably by generating fine air bubbles from under the water or by scattering particles or powder of plastics, foam styrene, or the like, having weight floating on the surface of the water, and the unevennness reflects illumination light in a diffusing manner. Reflection light from the surface of the water by illumination light from flood lamps 5 is attenuated and the surface of the water is made brighter by diffusing reflection. |
