PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the packet communication card where consumption of a battery of a portable telephone set is reduced by selecting a power supply among power supplies to the portable telephone set depending on a state of the portable telephone set. SOLUTION: The packet communication card 7 connects to a portable telephone set 6, is provided with a COM port required for packet communication and inserted to a data terminal equipment(DTE) 1. Depending on a communication state of the portable telephone set 6, one power supply among at least one power supply or over that supply power to the portable telephone set 6 is selected to reduce the consumption of a battery 8 of the portable telephone set 6. Furthermore, a switch 71 conducts the selection of the power supply.
