摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical recording medium which ensures high reproduction resolution, can prevent the reduction of the quantity of reproducing light and gives a high quality reproduced signal and to provide a reproducing method of the magneto-optical recording medium. SOLUTION: A 1st reproducing magnetic layer 1, a 1st longitudinally magnetized layer 2 and a 2nd reproducing magnetic layer 3 are successively laminated in this order to obtain the objective magneto-optical recording medium. The 1st and 2nd reproducing magnetic layers 1 and 3 are in a longitudinally magnetized state at room temperature and become a perpendicularly magnetized state at the critical temperature or above. The 1st longitudinal magnetized layer 2 exhibits longitudinal magnetization from room temperature to the Curie temperature. The above critical temperature is nearly equal to the Curie temperature. The 1st longitudinally magnetized layer is set in such a thickness that the light beam for reproduction sufficiently reaches the 2nd reproducing magnetic layer 3 and a reproduced signal is obtained in accordance with light reflected from both the 1st and 2nd reproducing magnetic layers 1 and 3.
