PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control device which has control characteristics with satisfactory responsiveness without using a position detection sensor. SOLUTION: A plurality of detecting voltage vectors Vab and Vcd are applied synchronously with a PWM signal generating a carrier wave of a control device 4, and motor currents iu and iv are detected by a current detection pulse Pd which is synchronous with the carrier wave. According to relations between the detecting voltage vectors Vab and Vcd and differential current vectors of the motor currents corresponding to the respective voltage vectors, a pole position θ is calculated by utilizing the saliency of a synchronous motor 1. With such a constitution, the pole position θ can be detected in a short time and with high accuracy with a small detecting voltage, so that a pole position sensorless motor control device with satisfactory controllability can be obtained at a low cost. |
