<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that cut-off of molten metal is worsened when a part of the molten metal is overflowed caused by rise in the surface of the molten metal left in a molten metal supplying pipe after supplying the molten metal in a pot into the molten metal supplying pipe with a reciprocating pump, and to prevent the occurrence of a malfunction caused by sticking of oxide to a check valve at the discharge side of the reciprocating pump. SOLUTION: The check valve 5 at the discharge side of the reciprocating pump 4 for supplying the molten metal 2 in the pot 1 into the molten metal supplying pipe 3, is disposed in a pump head passage 8. The valve element 11 of the check valve 5 is composed of a ball or a poppet held in a closing state not with the energizing force of a spring, etc., but with the pressure of the molten metal in the pump head passage 8 pumped up to the higher position than the surface of the molten metal 2 in the pot 11 or the molten metal left in the molten metal supplying pipe 13.</p> |
