This gas barrier multilayer film is provided with a film base and a gas barrier layer that contains a crosslinked product of a poly(meth)acrylic acid. The crosslinked product is formed by a reaction between an acrylic acid polymer (A) and a sugar alcohol (B), and the acrylic acid polymer (A) is a poly(meth)acrylic acid or a partially neutralized product obtained by neutralizing more than 0% by mole but 25% by mole or less of carboxy groups of a poly(meth)acrylic acid by zinc. The number of glycoside bonds in the structure of the sugar alcohol (B) is from 0 to 3 (inclusive). The mass ratio of the acrylic acid polymer (A) to the sugar alcohol (B), namely (A)/(B) is from 95/5 to 50/50.
