Self-supporting structure made from thin metal sheets in the shape of corrugations or of dihedrons, these metal sheets forming the tensioned member of the structure whilst the upper metal sheets prevent the compressed member from buckling. The metal sheets are connected to the stiffeners by sliding clips preventing the tensile stresses from being transferred to the stiffeners which can only support compressive stresses. A conventional beam portion incorporated in the axis of the structure makes it possible to install a lighting strip. <IMAGE>
