A device for loading removable multi-shot magazines of firearms with cartridges consists of a box-like container which can be opened and has an upper part and a lower part. The upper part and lower part are each constructed as flat, rectangular shells and contain guide tracks between which the cartridges to be loaded into the magazine are guided. The magazine to be loaded is inserted into the container, in front of the end of the guide tracks, and is supported on a corresponding wall of the container while the cartridges are being pressed into the magazine, so that it is unnecessary to fix the magazine using the second hand during the loading process.
