PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make not only the hardware of a pherial machine but also the software thereof in common with machine kinds of an image forming device main body. SOLUTION: In this image forming system, the peripheral machine 100B having a CPU 107 is connected to the image forming device main body 100A having a CPU 101, and the image forming device 100A and the peripheral machine 100B perform cooperative action while the CPU 107 of the peripheral machine 100B and the CPU 101 of the main body 100A make communication with each other. Whether or not the peripheral machine 100B is connected to the main body 100A is detected by the CPU 101 from a 3rd communication line 116, and information necessary for the peripheral machine 100B to perform the cooperative action with the main body 100A is stored in an F-ROM 110. The information (parameter or the like) held in a ROM 102 is transferred to the F-ROM 110 through the CPU 101, so that the cooperative action of the main body 100A and the peripheral machine 100B can be performed. |
