PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize communication of stream data requiring real time performance such as moving image data even on an inexpensive home network such as the Ethernet (R). SOLUTION: This communication network is provided with a communicating means for communicating stream data requiring real time performance, and a communicating means for communicating general data whose communication delay is permitted. Moreover, the maximum communication validating data quantity of the stream data and that of the general data which can be transmitted by each information equipment in every preliminarily decided unit time 6 is respectively set as a stream data communication band 11 and a general data communication band 12 for each information equipment or commonly to all the information equipment. In this case, the communication band of each information equipment is limited so that the total sum of the communication data quantity of the stream data of each information equipment can be communicated in the stream data communication band 11 of the communication network at any point of time.
