PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for joining impervious sheets which enhances the reliability of the joint of the impervious sheets and allows the visual check of the defective point of joining from outside and a method for inspecting the same. SOLUTION: The impervious sheets 1, 1, ... are made of a soft synthetic resin having translucency and excellent light shieldability and are formed to a width of 2.03 m. These impervious sheets 1 and 1 are superposed 50 mm on each other and while the superposed parts 2 and 2 are sandwiched from end edges by a heat ray welding machine having two hot wedges and are thermally fused by a not iron and hot air, the thermal fusing is progressed to form the adhered parts 3 and 3 of a width 15 mm and a test channel 4. A colored liquid 5 is then admitted by a pressurizing machine into the test channel 4 in order to check whether the joint state of the impervious sheets 1 and 1 is normal or not. The colored liquid 5, then, leaks out of the defective point 6 of the joining but since the impervious sheets 1 are the translucent resin, the visual check thereof from outside is possible.
