PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To openably or closably dispose a work table for preparing Welsh onions on a self-propelled Welsh onion harvester, and to simultaneously open or close a driving section cover, when the work table is opened or closed. SOLUTION: This Welsh onion harvester has a digging and carrying conveyer device which has a digging blade at the tip, is connected to a digging blade 6 and is used for loading, lifting and carrying the root portions of the dug Welsh onions dug with the digging blade in a vertical posture, a nipping and carrying belt which is placed above the digging and carrying conveyer device and is used for nipping and carrying the foliage portions of the Welsh onions dug from the field in the vertical posture, and a work table which is disposed below the final end portion of the nipping and carrying belt and is used for preparing the Welsh onions discharged from the nipping and carrying belt. Therein, the work table 17 can be opened or closed, while using the rear end portion 17a as a support point. The work table 17 is connected to a driving section cover 4a for covering a driving section disposed below the work table, and when the work table 17 is opened or closed, the driving section cover 4a is simultaneously opened or closed.
