PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system and method for a vehicle which is easy to identify latitude and longitude data later when position information is not provided to the user. SOLUTION: When a user inquires about position information which is not stored in a registered position database 41, an operator 35 of an operation center 30 inputs the information which cannot be provided in a registration waiting database 57 to store. When the vehicle-mounted device accesses to an information processing terminal 53 at a vehicle information center 50 later, destination history information stored in the vehicle-mounted device is sent to a user profile database 56. An operator 71 of a data registration center 70 refers the destination history information as registration candidate information to increase searching efficiency for position information when registering position information which could not be provided.
