PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL light source body of high reliability, having small brightness specks or small changes with time in luminance, and having a large effective luminous area. SOLUTION: The EL light source body is constituted of an EL element 1 and a wiring board for elements 2. The EL element 1 is provided with an element board 1a and a sealing board 1b, arranged facing other. The wiring board for elements 2 as a connection pattern 2c formed on a face opposed to an element electrode 1e structured of ITO (indium tin oxide) that is to be arranged along and equally connected with it. The element electrode 1e and the connection pattern 2c are adhered to each other by a conductive adhesive. The wiring board for elements 2 has pad terminals 2t formed for connection with the outside.
