PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device having a scanning optical unit capable of reducing the scanning pitch unevenness of light beams. SOLUTION: The image forming device has the scanning optical unit in which a laser light source, a deflecting means for deflecting and scanning the light beams from the laser light source, and a lens for guiding the deflected light beams to a photoconductor, are disposed, wherein a control means is provided for correcting the optical axis direction position of the scanning optical unit based on the detection result of a detecting means arranged to detect the scan height of the light beams which have passed through the lens.
