<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution system and a distribution method, capable of distributing high-quality data and performing communication having high real-time performance while utilizing a distribution path thereof. <P>SOLUTION: This distribution system has, as communication modes, a high-quality mode giving priority to the quality of video and audio, and a low-delay mode having quality inferior to the high-quality mode while giving priority to low delay. In the high-quality mode, each communication terminal ensures the distribution of high-quality video and audio. In the low delay mode, smooth communication having high real-time performance can be available using bi-directional communication. In this case, a communication terminal which does not perform bi-directional communication requires no real-time performance, but maintains a state of large delay, and thus, the sense of incongruity can be reduced in switching between the high-quality mode and the low delay mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
