PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new flavonoid compound obtained from the leaf of Chinese indigo and to provide a new application of a flavonoid compound (including a known substance) obtained from the leaf of Chinese indigo.SOLUTION: There is provided a new flavonoid compound which is (component 1) 3,5,4'-trihydroxy-6,7-methylenedioxyflavone-3-O-[6''-(3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl)-β-D-glucopyranoside], (component 2) 3,5,4'-trihydroxy-6,7-methylenedioxyflavone-3-O-[6''-(acetyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside], (component 3) 3,5,4'-trihydroxy-6,7-methylenedioxyflavone-3-O-[2''-(acetyl)-β-D-glucuronide]. The known substance is (component 4) 3,5,4'-trihydroxy-6,7-methylenedioxyflavone-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside and (component 5) 3,5,4'-trihydroxy-6,7-methylenedioxyflavone. Each of these flavonoid compounds has HMG-CoA reductase inhibitory activity.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
