PURPOSE:To assure precision, by obtaining a plastic strain DELTAepsilonp relative to a small repeated thermal strain DELTAepsilont of a relatively small amplitude and using constants beta, C obtainable in the conventional high-temperature, low-cycle fatigue test and predicting a fatigue life by mathematical formulas. CONSTITUTION:A fatigue life is predicted by mathematical formulas by obtaining thermal strain generated in a heat-resisting member basing upon its thermal hysteresis, plastic strain DELTAepsilonp relative to a small repeated thermal strain DELTAepsilont of a relatively small amplitude and using constants beta, C obtainable in the conventional high-temperature, low cycle fatigue test. Where SIGMA signifies a linear sum. Further, as shown in the drawing, as the constant beta is given as an inclination almost immune to a magnitude of the strain, precision of predicted life is assured from this standpoint also. |
