PURPOSE: A method for preventing an ignition when a cut-off state of fuel in a vehicle is provided to improve the endurance and reliability of a hardware system by restricting the ignition when a fuel is not injected into a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION: When a fuel cut-off condition is satisfied, in which an RPM of an engine is rapidly decreased, the ignition is restricted. That is, when an engine idle is 1, and the RPM is equal to or more than CUTWTSL, the ignition is restricted. While the fuel injection is restricted, the current applied to the primary coil is shut-off. That is, by controlling an ignition control port in an ECU(10), the current applied to the primary coil is shut-off, so that the ignition is restricted. If the fuel cut-off state is released with increasing the RPM, that is, when the idle state is not "close throttle switch" state or the RPM is equal to or less than a cut-in RPM, the ignition is re-started.
