<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buried object locating system in an unopened-cut excavating that little depends on depth from the surface of the earth. SOLUTION: The locating system separates a direct wave and a reflected wave of a locating wave using wave motion emitted from an excavation head for locating the buried object in proximity to the excavation head by detecting the reflection that the wave motion emitted from the excavation head, which is called a location wave hereafter, is reflected by the buried object to arrange a position of a receiver on the surface at a place that the direct wave does not substantially reach. Also the system is formed so that a position of the buried object can be calculated from (the time of) the reflected wave of the locating wave that receives by at least one receiver on the surface combined with position information of the excavation head and the receiver, by adopting a transponder method which transmits a trigger wave that commands emission of the locating wave from the surface to receive the trigger wave by the receiver in the excavation and thereafter emits the locating wave after a prescribed time.</p> |
