PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a good color electrophotographic image by using an image forming apparatus and an image forming method each employing an intermediate transfer member. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus for forming a color image, a creep ratio of an organophotoreceptor (when a Vickers indentor is indented under a load of 20 mN) is 1 to <3.5%, each of colored toners used in developing devices is a spherical toner having a shape factor (SF) of <140, at least one of the colored toners contains an inorganic additive having a number average primary particle diameter of 0.1-1.0μm, and a cleaning means for an intermediate transfer member is provided to remove residual toners remaining after transfer on the intermediate transfer member through a plurality of cleaning blades.
