PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable recording without missing a precious opportunity of photographing by effectively avoiding deterioration in mobility in an image pickup device such as a camera-integrated video tape recorder. SOLUTION: An image pickup result DV1 is recorded successively and circularly in a prescribed storage medium 16, and the image pickup result DV 1 of a prescribed time just before starting to record the image pickup result DV1 into a recording medium 2 is maintained in this storage medium 16.
