The method involves taking an image of a number, printed or engraved on each of a fleet of gas cylinders (1, 2), using a shooting unit (60) e.g. color optical camera. The image is transmitted towards a gas cylinder fleet control center (70). The printed or engraved number on the cylinder is determined from the image by using character recognition software, and the cylinder is recognized from the number. |
