<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device further properly controlling a boosting circuit with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: This electric power steering device 2 has: a torque sensor 36; an auxiliary motor 34 assisting steering force of a dirigible road wheel; an ECU 12 sending out a driving current to the auxiliary motor 34 based on a signal from the torque sensor 36; and a boosting power unit (a boosting circuit) 22 boosting and supplying source voltage to the ECU 12. The ECU 12 generates and transmits a mode signal of indicating a vehicle state to the boosting power unit 22. The boosting power unit 22 operates for boosting in response to this mode signal.
