摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an intermittently adhered optical fiber ribbon that can be separated into single core coated optical fiber units each having the predetermined number of single core coated optical fibers without causing an increase in optical loss and to achieve an optical cable using the same.SOLUTION: An intermittently adhered optical fiber ribbon includes two sub-tapes st1 and st2 each that are formed such that four single core coated optical fibers 21 are arranged substantially in parallel with each other, and the single core coated optical fibers 21 adjacent to each other are adhered with first adhesive portions 22 which are intermittently disposed in a lengthwise direction and a width direction of the single core coated optical fibers 21. Each of the sub-tapes st1 and st2 is integrally adhered to each other in the width direction of the single core coated optical fibers 21 through second adhesive portions 23 which are intermittently disposed in the lengthwise direction. On that occasion, a thickness of the second adhesive portions 23 is set to be such a thickness that at least a central portion thereof projects farther than a tangential line being in contact with a surface of each of the single core coated optical fibers 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
