A sprayer suitable for pelletizing urea-formaldehyde foams comprises a tube 2 for connection to a source of material to be sprayed and having a discharge orifice 37 which is of as great a cross-sectional area as the remainder of the tube; an annular chamber 38 supplied with compressed gas via tubes 42 and communicating through annular passage 34 with annular orifice 36; and a second annular chamber 52 supplied with compressed gas via tubes 56 and communicating through annular passage 60 with annular orifice 62. Optionally, passage 34 may contain fins (Fig. 2, not shown) so arranged that gas passing through passage 34 issues from orifice 36 as a vortex co-axial with the tube: in this case, the second annular chamber 52 and its associated components may be omitted.</p> |
