PURPOSE:To stabilize the level of the exciting light inputted to optical fibers having an optical amplifying function. CONSTITUTION:The level of the exciting light transmitted to respective optical fibers 1 having the optical amplifying function is substantially prevented from changing even if the level of the exciting light outputted from either of the light sources 2 for excitation falls by using a fiber coupler 5 which distributes the total exciting light inputted from the respective light sources 2 for excitation to the respective optical fibers 1 by equally dividing this light by the number of the optical fibers 1 if there are >=2 pieces of the optical fibers 1 and the light sources 2 for excitation. In addition, the level fall is automatically returned by an automatic gain control function. |
