PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk where flatness can be improved and then which can be held with excellent positional precision by eliminating an unevenness in thickness of clamp areas even if a disk structure is modified. SOLUTION: In the optical disk having a supporting substrate 2 at the central part of which clamp areas 8 are formed and a transparent reading layer thinner than the supporting substrate, the reading layer is not coated in the clamp areas of the supporting substrate. Thus, the unevenness in thickness of the clamp areas is eliminated even if the disk structure is modified, the flatness is improved and positioned precision is also improved. |
